Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I sat down to watch it, but I certainly got more than I bargained for.
It was the best HP movie of the four, by miles. It was completely intense. I was almost in tears near the end.
But oh, how I loved it. Even if it didn't have the same exotic style that POA, it had style. It was almost how I felt POA should have been, but upped a notch.
I'll say now
Goblet of Fire was never my favorite book. In fact, it was probably fourth on the list, coming in just above
Chamber of Secrets and
Sorcerer's Stone. Those I sort of ignore, since the movies do a perfectly good job completely summarizing them to the point of...
Anyway. I might have to reread GOF, but I probably won't. But everything was perfect, perfect! I couldn't find a single thing wrong with it.
The Death Eaters: scary as all hell. I was afraid I'd have nightmares over those jumped up, psychotic Klan members. And Voldemort, no where near as ridiculous as he could have been. I was glad for that. I shouldn't have doubted Ralph Fiennes. In fact, Jude Law, despite having an appearance similar to Christian Coulson, might well have messed everything up. At the point of Voldemort's resurrection, it doesn't matter much anyhow.
Many of the things the movie did, to streamline it, were better than what is in the book. I was amazed. Everything worked, even if at first one is like: what the hell,
that doesn't happen in the book. It all works. And everything is scary. I'm not sure there was any possible way they could have gotten anything but a PG-13 rating.
